I graduated from Mississippi State University in 2001 with a Bachelors degree in Social Work, and in 2002 with a Master’s degree in Social work from the University of Alabama. I have worked in a number of different settings primarily providing services to children, adolescents, and families. In 2017, I obtained my Trauma informed Care certification from Mississippi College.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in individual, couples and family therapy for children and adults.
There is no single approach that is right for every individual, so I use a blend of modalities, such as:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Solution-focused and Motivational Interviewing
- Psych-education
I believe in building rapport with clients and working from a strengths-based approach that focuses on the whole client to assist them in achieving a successful, fulfilling, and productive life style.
As a therapist, I value providing a supportive environment for each client, so trust is developed.
I help each client look at their history so that connections between the past and present can be understood.
The teaching strategies and skills I use help my clients learn how to manage emotions and decision making. I am confident that my interventions have resulted in individual & family member engagement, and improvement in accomplishing therapeutic goals.
